As information becomes available on the course it will be posted here or refer to the P3 Adventure Race Event Forum for the latest updates. This information will not be revealed until closer to that date... however we can tell you...

THE GIST!!:
The P3 is aimed as a introductory adventure race to try to encourage more people into adventure type sports.

Event organisers Lactic Turkey Events have come up with an innovative new format which will challenge the experienced racers, but more importantly offer people wanting to give this "adventure racing thing", the opportunity to try an event of this nature.

DISCIPLINES:
The three hours of run/trek will be broken up by mystery activities which are used to promote teamwork - challenging both the brain and the body and a cool tubing section. So ...no added biking, kayaking or no support crew needed.

LOCATION:
The event will be at a secret location within 60 minutes of Auckland. The final location will be announced in the week of the event and we'll leak some clues out in the weeks leading up to the event.

TEAM SIZE:
The event is for teams of 2 or 4 people. Corporate Teams must include at least one female and and all team members must be in permanent employment at the same organisation.

NO SUPPORT CREW!!:
Because we are using a rogaine type format NO support crew is required. All transitions will be in a central area so you can do these by yourself.

COMPULSORY CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT:
The safety of our participants is important to us. For this reason we insist every participant carries certain minimum clothing and safety equipment. Each participants compulsory gear will be checked by race officials at registration.

Each Team will need: a good first aid kit (must contain as a minimum: 2 metres ofadhesive strapping tape, 4 bandaids, 2 gauze pads, 4 cm width crepe bandage, 2 pain relief tablets (Panadol or similar), 2 anti-inflammation tablets), compass, torch and mobile phone.

Each person will need: a weatherproof parka, thermal gloves and hat, polypropylene or thermal long sleeve shirt and long johns, a survival blanket, a whistle, a car sized (4wd size is best!) inner tube for the paddle activity and a buoyancy aid/life jacket.
