P6 2005 RACE REPORT

Wow that was fun wasn't it!!!

As we were putting checkpoints out the day before, we kept getting texts - hail, strong wind warnings, lightening ...the works.  We thought that we'd get a bunch of no shows - but were pleasantly surprised.  Everyone turned up, with a positive attitude about the stormy conditions on the morning of the race and that's how the day carried on...stormy conditions and happy people.

Unfortunately it was too cold for anyone to take us up on the nude day special bonus points.

It's a shame that you couldn't enjoy the kayak to its full potential.  It really is stunning around all the islands, and you lot couldn't see it much due to the hails storms and wind.  At least there was water this year!!!

Then into the forest for the pedal and plod.  We were a bit spoilt to have some great maps available in a awesome forest.  We had lots of positive comments about the run leg.

We thought we might have trouble coming up with some different mystery activities for this year but it was easy and hopefully you enjoyed the variety.

There have been a few amendments to the results after people correcting us with some omissions in the mystery activities, but hopefully we've got it right now.  The biggest change is the 4 person mixed category - Team Ugly but Tasty took it out with 2568 points.  Then Gordon's GOT Sandwich with 2446 points and then the team we gave first to on the day - MacNuts with 2338.  Opps!  That's the trouble with having so many different scores to collect for different things I guess....something we'll work on for next year.

The beauty of the Electronic SportIdent system is that it records all of the checkpoints you visited and in what order so you can all compare routes. How do I read the report? you may ask:
* Each column is a control
* The first line is the checkpoint number and points gained in brackets, the second row is the running time and the third row is the split between checkpoints.
* Use your web browsers back button to come back to this page

The splits for the Pedal are.... [here]
The splits for the Plod are....[here]

You would have see Simone Barr taking photos all day.  These are available for purchase.  Check them out ....[here]
