Event upates will be posted on the P6 Central Otgao Adventure Race Event Forum
WHERE: NASEBY FOREST
Enter your team by the 14th October and you'll go in the draw to win the chance to participate in the 2009 event as TEAM SERFAS (with free gear). Check out the details...here
DISCIPLINES: Mountain biking, running and/or walking, a flat water tubing activity (using car tyre inner tubes), simple navigation, team work, strategy and mystery activities.
NO SUPPORT CREW REQUIRED!! Because the P6 Central Otago is a multi loop style format NO support crew is required. All transitions will be at the event centre. Persuade your usual support crew to participate instead!
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Competently handle a mountain bike on gravel/forest road and be keen to give some single track a go.
- Competently swim a minimum of 50 metres
- At least one member of the team should be able to carry out simple navigation
TEAM SIZE: The event is for teams of 2 or 4 people. The Premier Category is 4 person mixed gender team.
Special thanks to ERNSLAW ONE LTD for their permission to use Naseby Forest.
REQUIRED FITNESS:
For training we usually say as long as you can spend 2 hours plodding (walking or running) and 2 hours pedalling on a mountain bike then you'll be more than ready because the disciplines will be spilt up with activities so it isn't non stop hard core! That’s unless you feel like going non stop hard core!
NO SUPPORT CREW!!: Because we are using a rogaine type format NO support crew is required. All transitions will be in a central area so you can do these by yourself.
EVENT CENTRE: The Event Centre will be based at Larchview Holiday Park which is within the town of Naseby and is adjacent to the Ernslaw One owned Naseby Forest. Naseby is situated near Ranfurly and is approx 8km off State Highway 85. Larchview Hoilday Park is located on Swimming Dam Road.
Travel Times: 1.5hrs drive from Dunedin, 55mins drive from Alexandra, 2 hrs drive from Wanaka, 2 hrs drive from Queenstown
